Agent Configurations

Disabling Agent

Agent can be completely disabled by setting thundra_agent_lambda_disableenvironment variable to true

Configuration via Environment Variable
thundra_agent_lambda_disable: true

Enabling Debug Logs

Debug logs can be enabled by setting thundra_agent_lambda_debug_enableenvironment variable to true

Configuration via Environment Variable
thundra_agent_lambda_debug_enable: true

Configuring Thundra API URL

To change the URL Thundra agent sends reports to set thundra_agent_lambda_report_rest_baseUrl environment variable to true. Please note that normally you don't need to set this environment variable to a URL unless you are forwarding Thundra data to any of the following our partner environments (Splunk, Honeycomb). The default value that agents are using will just work without you set this environment variable.

Configuration via Environment Variable
thundra_agent_lambda_report_rest_baseUrl: <report-url>

Path /monitoring-data is added to the URL automatically. For instance, in the default case ( the agent makes an https post request to the path

Configuring Application Stage

Configure application stage to specify the profile where the monitor data was collected from. Profiles are used for representing different environments such as "development", "staging", "production", etc..

Configuration via Environment Variable
thundra_agent_application_stage: <application-stage>

Configuring Function Timeout Margin

Configure AWS Lambda timeout margin to specify how much time is needed to send report before lambda is timed out. You should change this variable if the timeout_margin is not enough and you may not see your timed out functions on Thundra Console. The default value is 200 ms.

Configuration via Environment Variable
thundra_agent_lambda_timeout_margin: <timeout-margin-value-in-ms>

Configuring Apdex Score

Apdex score helps you understand the performance of your Lambda functions in terms of latency. In order Thundra to calculate the Apdex score, you should add new environment variables to your functions. See the values below

- thundra_agent_lambda_application_tag_apdex_target_time: Specifies the time in milliseconds which satisfies end user with the response time of the Lambda function. - thundra_agent_lambda_application_tag_apdex_tolerating_ratio: Specifies the ratio between the Apdex target time and tolerating time. This configuration is optional. Default value is 4. - thundra_agent_lambda_application_tag_apdex_tolerating_time: Specifies the Lambda function response time threshold which can be tolerated by end user. This is optional.
